The Indian Senior team is all set to start their 5-Test match series against England from 20 June. At the same time, India's Under-19 team is also scheduled to tour England. However, just days before the tour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Junior Cricket Committee made two key changes to the team. This tour is slated to be held from 24 June to 23 July 2025. During this period, India's U19 team will play a 50-over warm-up match, 5 youth ODIs, and 2 multi-day games against England.
Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel, two players who were originally a part of the U19 team, have been forced to withdraw due to injuries. According to the BCCI, Aditya Rana has a stress fracture in his lower back, while Khilan Patel is suffering from a stress reaction in his right leg. Both players sustained these injuries during a high-performance camp at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy. As a result, they will miss the tour to England.
To fill their spots, the BCCI has called up D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak. Both players were previously on the standby list and will now be part of the main team for the tour. Meanwhile, Ayush Mhatre has been appointed captain of the team. He comes into this tour on a strong note, having performed well for Chennai Super Kings during IPL 2025. Additionally, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made headlines by scoring a 35-ball hundred for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, is also in the team.
Here’s the final team for the tour: Ayush Mhatre (Captain), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vihaan Malhotra, Mauliyaraj Chavda, Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu (Vice-captain and Wicket-keeper), Harvansh Singh (Wicket-keeper), RS Ambrish, Kanishk Chauhan, Henil Patel, Yudhajeet Guha, Pranav Raghavendra, Mohammed Enan, Anmoljeet Singh, D. Deepesh, Naman Pushpak.
